Goal

Training the step-and-push-off movement – methodical work.

Organisation

The goalkeeper stands in the center of the goal, with poles placed on the ground next to him.

Action

The goalkeeper stands between two posts placed on the ground, which define the area from where the goalkeeper can perform the push-off.

Important points:

1. Twisting the toe of the push-off foot.

2. The hips stay up, while the head is pushed down – towards the ball.

3. The back leg must remain slightly straight, do not bend it!

4. The goalkeeper reaches out with their hand towards the ball while simultaneously pushing off from the push-off foot.

The exercise is performed alternately on both sides.

TIP: If goalkeepers have problems with this exercise, the coach does not throw the ball, but instead places it on the ground (in the area where it would land after being thrown by the coach). It is called - we work with static ball.
